There are many reasons for one or more of the above mentioned problems. High loads, high friction, incorrect voltage, short circuits, open circuits, incorrect brush grades, worn or loose bearings.
Out of round collectors, Badly worn brushes, wrong spring pressures, vibration transmitted from other machines running close by.
The environment the machine is running in affected by chemicals, gasses, dusty atmospheres.
